Find a pine snake:The single biggest thing that you can do to help out with Project Pine Snake is to help us learn about where they live. A photograph of a pine snake gives us evidence of the species’ distribution and abundance. The best way, unfortunately, to find a pine snake is to look for animals run over on the road. Start keeping your eyes out for dead (or live) snakes on the road and then, WHEN A SAFE OPPORTUNITY PRESENTS ITSELF, snap a picture with your phone. We share all the information we gather with the Nongame Conservation Section of the GA Department of Natural Resources.
Tell your friends about us:Do you know someone who lives in the region and loves snakes and all things wild? We want to know them too! Please think about who you know that may have seen a pine snake and forward this page and recommend our Facebook page. The larger our network, the more effective we can be.

Post a flyer:Email us and we will send you a flyer to post in your store or office. The more people that know about pine snakes and that we are looking for them, the higher the probability of us connecting with someone who has seen a pine snake. Every record counts!
Volunteer your time:If you are interested in a more structured opportunity to get some research experience contact us and we will see about making it happen. We always need folks to do field surveys. We could also use periodic help with installing and checking traps.
Donate:
We can always use donations of building materials to make traps: ¼” mesh hardware cloth, plywood, stakes, etc.
